Each year, our Chapter hosts a minimum of five (5) Training Days. These events are hosted at various Chapter Members' rural properties, usually on the 2nd Saturday of each month and typically begin at 9:00am. We bring a sack lunch, a light lunch is served by the host, or we eat lunch at a local restaurant, then continue with training exercises until approximately 3:00pm.
The Training Director develops an iterinary for each Training Day, after getting an idea from attendees about their training needs/concerns, the training levels of the dogs that will be in attendance, and any upcoming Tests the dogs will be involved in. Necessary equipment is borrowed from the Chapter and birds are acquired, with each attendee responsible for the cost of the birds they use. Extra birds are generally available for attendees who want to buy birds for follow-up training at home.
Prospective members are welcome and encouraged to attend a Chapter Training Day. It is the best way to see first hand what our Chapter is all about, and to meet some of our Members. You will also undoubtedly come away from the Day with your training questions answered, as well as a new training tip or technique.
