The ILLOWA NAVHDA Youth Pheasant Hunt will provide an opportunity for 12 area youth, ages 11-15, who have completed the Hunter Safety Course, the opportunity to hunt rooster pheasants over trained versatile hunting dogs on opening day of the youth pheasant season.
The youth will receive a brief review of hunting safety and rules followed by gun safety and trapshooting. Participants will rotate between sessions that include dog handling, wildlife identification, a field hunt and more. All guns, ammo, blaze orange, eye/ear protection, and food will be provided.
There is NO COST for this program thanks to NAVHDA, Louisa County Pheasant & Quail Forever and generous donations from other area sponsors.
